We warmly invite you to join the prestigious global photography competition that is The World Photographic Cup.

The 2027 Edition is now OPEN. As a photographer – the way you can enter is via your National Team’s entry process. You must reach out to your Team Captain and see how the national selection process takes place.

Team captain details are found on the WPC website. If your country is not listed – that means you may not have a National WPC team YET…. So we need to help set up a team and install a Team Captain. ­

2027 date changes

We have made some minor updates to the 2027 timeline. You can see the timeline on the WPC website now with all the important dates for this year’s competition: The most important change is the HARD STOP of the competition is now 29 October 2026. No extensions to submissions can be made after this date (at midnight CET time) ­

2027 Rule Changes

There has been a couple of minor amendments to some of the WPC rules. The rules are online now here. Changes were made to the Nature Wildlife category to include the wording: Images must not involve direct human intervention or any deliberate attempt to alter an animal’s natural behaviour.

In addition, a visual table of definitions has been created to assist Photographers and Team Captains to ensure that WPC category rules are followed: ­

2027 Team Member Change

WPC acknowledges in many countries – especially in Europe the ability for a citizen to live permanently in another country without a Permanent Resident Permit (PUT) nor a passport of their country of residency. We have therefore amended the WPC rules to state that:   

To participate and represent a country in World Photographic Competition a photographer must qualify for one of the following:

Be a citizen holding a valid passport for the country he/she is representing or hold a valid “Permanent resident permit”, a “permanent right of residence” or equivalent for the country of residence.

This will mean that for some team captains they can allow certain team members to represent their team who may not have qualified previously with our WPC citizenship rules. ­

2027 Awards Presentation

In April 2027 – we invite you to join us in Calgary, Alberta Canada to celebrate our finalists, Best of Nation winners AND the Cup winner and join in with the Canadian Imaging Conference & Expo 2027. More details on this fabulous event will come soon.
