Visual Storyteller, Educator, and Industry Leader

My name is Mario Cornejo, and I’ve been a storyteller for nearly three decades—using the art of photography, cinematography, and communication to capture and share powerful stories of love, friendship, and empowerment.

I was born in Quito, Ecuador, a small paradise in the middle of the world, and immigrated to the United States in the 1990s to complete my studies in commercial engineering. But everything changed the day I developed my first roll of ISO100 film, captured on my first Hasselblad in 1998. From that moment, photography became more than a profession—it became my life’s passion.

Today, I am a Certified Professional Photographer (CPP), Photographic Craftsman, Master Photographer, and Past President of the Professional Photographers of New Jersey, where I live with my beautiful wife, Ivone, and our two daughters, Gaby and Sophia.

I am the CEO of MCProductions, an award-winning visual arts studio based in New Jersey, specializing in photography and cinematography for both commercial and social events. Over the years, I’ve had the honor of telling stories across the globe—from weddings to corporate campaigns, from keynote speaking at WPPI in Las Vegas to presenting in Beijing alongside some of the world’s greatest photographic masters.

My work has earned prestigious accolades including the KODAK Elite Award and the PPA National Award (2024) for outstanding service to the photography industry. But what drives me above all is impact—uplifting others through my art and through service to the creative community.

As a proud advocate for Hispanic photographers, I’ve worked closely with organizations across Latin America to expand access to education, mentorship, and professional opportunity. In 2025, I had the privilege of organizing the World Photographic Cup (WPC) in Ecuador, in partnership with the WPC board and Latitud Zero Expo & Convention, where I also serve as CEO.

This journey has led me to join the leadership of the World Photographic Cup, the most prestigious photographic organization on the planet. I now collaborate closely with Latin American teams—an incredible opportunity to both learn from and give back to this amazing industry.

Through every frame, every workshop, and every global initiative, my mission remains the same: to inspire, uplift, and champion the next generation of visual storytellers.
